Summer Rising Program Program Nyc
The NYC summer rising program will spark curiosity, joy, and a love of learning mostly for students in kindergarten through grade 8. During the Summer rising program, students will engage with peers and caring adults to experience all that their city has to offer.
The program will combine academic support and school-based enrichment programming led by community-based organizations (CBOs). And also, students will have daily opportunities to play, create, explore, and develop new interests.
Nyc Doe Summer School 2022
NYC Summer Rising 2022 is a partnership between New York City’s Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD).
For high school students, NYC Summer 2022 program marks the beginning of the DOE’s focus on reimagining students’ experiences in schools. For them to be more relevant, engaging, and career-connected with long-term economic security as the goal.
NYC Rising High School Summer Program
High school students participating in DOE summer programs will have a chance to make up previously failed courses. Not only that, but they will also take part in academic enrichment, with academic, social, emotional, and career preparatory supports.
However, the Summer 2022 day for a high school student may include retaking courses needed for graduation, academic acceleration and enrichment, and summer work opportunities.
Summer Rising Transportation
The Department of Education (doe) and the Department of Youth and Community Development are committed to ensuring students have a safe way to and from Summer Rising.
Rising NYC summer school, eligible students will receive busing daily from July 5 through August 12. The bus will arrive at their program at approximately 8 AM and leave their program by no later than 3 pm.
However, eligible students must enroll in the Summer Rising Enrollment Portal by May 22 in order to receive a bus route in time for Summer Rising.
Note: Qualified students in 12-month Extended School Year and District 75 Chapter 683 programs do not need to use the Enrollment Portal to participate in summer programming. They will be routed for busing by their various schools.

- Tap on Create Myschool account button
- Tap on Get started

NYC Rising Summer Program Application for Grade K-8
Summer Program enrollment Update. The final Summer Rising registration will begin on June 13 and continue through the start of the program. The Enrollment Portal will not reopen; rather it will happen locally at the CBO and school level. So, to your child for summer rising, do this;
- Review the summer school list of programs with available seats at schools nyc gov
- Take note; that current availability is at the middle school level (students currently in grades 6-8).
- If you are interested in one of these seats for your child, reach out to the program’s CBO ( the CBO contact information is posted on this same list).
- If there is still availability, the CBO will give you an enrollment form to complete. If the program is no longer has availability, the CBO may place your child on a waitlist.
Further, the CBO at the requested summer site will follow up with you beginning on June 24 to confirm your child’s spot in the program.
Please ensure you only contact one program at a time. If your first choice is full and you are put on a waitlist, then we encourage you to apply to another program with availability.
